About Sergio Trevino
It’s impossible to overstate just how good Sergio Trevino is at making music. In his songs, we hear what happens when a visual artist discovers his own seemingly bottomless well of timeless melodies and stories. His voice can evoke Paul Simon’s eloquence and the Everly Brothers’ pining, along with his own sly playfulness and open-armed empathy. He’ll break your heart and make you laugh––sometimes in the same verse.
As front man for bands including Buxton and Ancient Cat Society, Sergio has taken his Houston-grown indie folk-pop everywhere. As a teacher, he is uniquely good at breaking songwriting down into digestible pieces so that students walk away feeling empowered.
FAQs
Do I need to play an instrument?
No! If you play a guitar (or ukulele, mandolin, whatever it is!), please feel free to bring it. If you aren’t playing yet, don’t worry––it’s not required.
Do I need to have any songs written prior to the class?
No! We’re all here to learn and get started together. Some participants have written hundreds of songs, while others haven’t written any.
Should I bring something to write with?
Yes! Bring a pad and pencil or pen––or your laptop.
